AO and AS - Under the Sea

Under the Sea

Alpha Omega and Alpha Sigma have been making an investigation into sea animals. They explored the many creatures that live in the sea, among them fishes, sharks, crabs, sea turtles, seahorses, jellyfishes, octopus and others.

Alpha Omega

In a collaborative work the whole Alpha Omega made a big papier-mâché sea turtle which was a huge success with the children! They had so much fun painting on our 3D sea turtle.

Using a variety of colours they also painted on bubble paper and created a large seahorse which is exposed in our classroom. Part of their investigation was using a light projector to see the outlines and shadows of the various animals. It was an interest and fun way to learn about sea animals.

Alpha Sigma

Alpha Sigma explored different art techniques to represent some sea animals.
They crumpled paper, glued them on sea turtles and sharks outlines and painted them.
Afterwards they sang and danced to the shark and turtle song.

Science and Maths Week

This week all groups were involved in Science and Maths investigations.

Bellow are some pictures of Alpha Beta and Delta  children exploring with water.
Some children measured coloured water in different containers by using a funnel and seeing the different sizes in volume. Others explored using various objects to see which ones sank and which ones floated. Some even took a spray bottle to spray windows and see the way the water trickled down. It was an amazing experience for them!

WORKING HARD IN ALPHAS

Working in Alpha

Children have been working hard since the beginning of term. Now they are starting to be more independent and their skills are developing steadily.

Some of the activities they have been working in the class are:

Transferring liquid from one container into another, threading beads,  gluing and pasting,  painting with watercolour pallet, stacking blocks, sorting and so much more.

Last week you could see some pictures of Alpha Delta and Beta and this week you can check out pictures of Alpha Sigma and Alpha Omega.
