Colours - AO & AS

In the Alphas children have been learning about colours.

An important part of a child’s development is recognising and naming all of them.

There are many ways to learn about colours in a fun way.
Sorting colour flash cards, singing the Rainbow Song, reading stories  such as “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Eric Carle, painting and mixing colours.

Pairing colours is also an interesting activity for the children to engage in.

How about asking your child to name different colours in their environment as a game?

Here is a link to one of the songs we

have been singing with children.

More songs!

Here is a couple of links to some of the songs we

have been singing with children.

Do look them up and sing together with your child.

They are sure to enjoy it!

Another interesting week in the Alphas!

Alphas have been learning about Farm Animals.
Children are learning about the different animals that live in the farm and their characteristics. They love making the sounds of each animal and exploring
the things each one of them does.

Has your child already gone to a farm? Has he/she had the opportunity to have
close encounters with different animals?

We would like to recommend two cool places to visit in São Paulo.

You can plan for a different family day!

Some news from Alpha Beta:
In our investigation, pupils learned that cows produce milk and chickens lay eggs.
Using these two ingredients, Alpha Beta pupils decided to make a delicious cake
which they simply loved eating!

Step 1: Adding the ingredients

Step 2: Mixing them together

Step 3: Waiting for it to bake...

Step 4: Eating the delicious cake.
Yummy Yummy!!!!!

We also took the opportunity to go on a great "pretend visit to the farm"
where we could milk our "make-belief cow".

Fine Motor Skills
This is an area of development we work hard in the Alphas!
Fine motor skills are achieved when children learn to use their smaller muscles,
like muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists.
In school, Alpha pupils have been exercising their skills when drawing, holding small items, zipping their bags, turning pages, eating, playing with play dough and much more.

Some pictures of Alpha Delta at work:
They painted on the easel, glued and pasted different shapes, manipulated play dough
and used a small magnetic fishing rod to catch some make-believe fish.

What busy bees they are!

Stay tuned for next week's blog!

Alpha Omega and Sigma: Working hard and having fun!

Alpha Omega Had a Farm….

While learning about Farm Animals, Alpha Omega children worked with different materials and techniques to compose our Farm Board.

They painted the green grass, stamped spots on the cow, sponged the pig with pink paint, glued dyed cotton on the black sheep and crumpled crepe paper for the duck.

Here is our beautiful Board and some pictures of them working hard.
