Carnaval for the Alphas at St Francis 

The Alpha pupils came to school the Friday before the Carnival break dressed in their favourite fancy dress costume. They participated together with the other Early Years groups in viewing and dancing to the Primary classes Carnaval "batucada". Each Alpha group joined by playing their own hand-made tambourine and parading around the open court.  They were exposed to traditional Brazilian songs and "marchinhas", such as "Mamãe eu quero" and "Me dá um dinheiro aí". It was a fun introduction to what Carnaval is in Brazil.
